Originally from Long Island, Sean Hayes moved with his family down to the beaches of Wilmington, North Carolina for his high school years. He is currently a sophomore in the McDonough School of Business and plans on double majoring in Finance and International Business. Nevertheless, he is still exploring his options upon graduation as he has a wide variety of interests and passions. Two of Sean’s brothers graduated Georgetown, so he has long known what it means to be a member of the Hoya family. Unlike his brothers, Sean has already seen the basketball team reach the NCAA tournament. In addition to four older brothers, Sean also has a sixteen year old sister who is already more mature than he will ever be. Around campus Sean is a member of the Financial Management Association, Steering Committee, and is a Student Advisor for incoming freshman. He has also just recently started a job with CBS Sports’ College Sports TV (CSTV). His interest in this job came through his love for sports, and especially Georgetown basketball. As a matter of fact, last year after the comeback versus Carolina Sean was first in line at McDonough Gymnasium and was given the first ticket to the Final Four while his running mate Andrew Madorsky was right behind him claiming the second one. When not sitting on the couch watching sports and spooning nutella straight out of the jar, Sean can be active. In high school he was a two-time Varsity Soccer captain, two-time Varsity Lacrosse captain, and Varsity Basketball captain. He was also named Cape Fear Academy Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2006. Sean was also involved off the playing field, serving as Class President for all four years and as the Yearbook Editor his senior year. He truly misses these leadership positions and is excited about the opportunity to represent the student body as President of Georgetown. |
